Hi, I’m Adya, a third-year Statistics and Data Science major. As the project manager, I utilized my leadership skills and experience in both overseeing project timelines and creating compelling data visuals to make sure our team stayed on track and had a guided path to creating our final project. Using my knowledge in data analysis, I was able to assist with creating key data visuals. In addition, I coordinated meeting times for our group and divided tasks to make sure deadlines were met and that our group was successful!

Alex Jung

Data Specialist & Visualization Specialist

Hi, I’m A.J., a fourth-year Statistics & Data Science major. In this project, As the project data specialist and data visualizations specialist, I handled most things data! Using R, I cleaned and organized both of our datasets – fixing inconsistent coding, recoding categorical variables, handling missing values, and making sure everything was fully numeric and ready for analysis. I also created visualizations in R with ggplot, including the mental-health timeline, the world map, and multiple exploratory charts that helped us understand genre preferences, listening patterns, and their relationship to mental-health perceptions. My goal throughout the project has been to make our data clear, accurate, and easy to interpret, and to present our findings in visuals that actually tell a story.

Hello, I’m Rica, and I’m a third-year student majoring in Linguistics and Computer Science, with a minor in Digital Humanities. As the web designer for our project, I developed a user-friendly and visually engaging platform that complements our research. I designed the website’s wireframe and organized the layout and content for each page, ensuring that my teammates were involved in every step of the creative process. In addition to design work, I analyzed datasets and produced clear data visualizations to communicate our findings effectively. I also contributed to the narrative section, crafting our visualizations and findings into an accessible reading that highlights the significance of our research.

Hi. I’m Erin, a third-year communication studies major. As the editor of the group, I played a key role in contributing to the content, design, and analyses within our presentation. As the project editor, I not only oversaw the written content and presentation of our website, yet also contributed toward the analytics and visuals. Further, I ensured our project met the fundamental requirements for our team’s success, collaborating with my teammates on crucial facets of research and presentation, ranging from minor details surrounding structure and organization, to broader components involving research analytics and processing. Beyond joint efforts within our research scope and building the website, I contributed to finalizing each stage of our work to ensure the final domain presented our data and findings in a manner that aligned with our goals, in both design and content.

Hello, my name is Crystalin and  I am a 4th year Psychology Major, minoring in Digital Humanities, where I aspire to work as a Marketing Data Analyst in the future. I play a vital role in sourcing and developing content for the project, ensuring that the sources that we use are credible and aligns with the research questions. I wrote a section in our “About Page”, as well as a section in our team’s data critique. Additionally, I used my data visualization skills to create some of the graphs featured on our website, and I meticulously sourced out aesthetic visual images to help strengthen the overall storytelling behind our research question
